Kota Kinabalu, or KK, may not be top of mind for most people planning a weekend getaway out of Singapore or KL or even Bangkok, for that matter. Unless they are thinking of climbing Mt. Kinabalu, that is. And while them mountain is indeed a must-do experience, there’s a lot more to see and do in this still-sleepy town that hugs the coast of the South China Sea.
